Kweele operates a marketplace that connects members of the Liberian diaspora with verified builders, carpenters, electricians, and material suppliers in Liberia. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using Kweele, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you give us, information created as you use Kweele, and information from trusted third parties:

• Account details — name, email, phone number, country, and role (buyer, professional, supplier, or admin).
• Verification data — for professionals, government ID, references, and portfolio images submitted for site-verification.
• Project and message content — quotes, milestones, photos and videos uploaded as proof of work, and messages between buyers and pros.
• Payment information — billing details for buyers and mobile-money payout accounts (such as Lonestar MTN MoMo or Orange Money) for professionals, handled through our payment partners.
• Usage and device data — pages viewed, searches, approximate location, IP address, and device or browser type.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate and improve Kweele, specifically to:

• Match buyers with relevant professionals and suppliers and power search and recommendations.
• Verify professional identities and maintain the Site-Verified badge program.
• Process payments, hold funds in escrow per milestone, and release payouts.
• Enable messaging, quotes, reviews, and dispute resolution.
• Send transactional notifications by SMS and email, and detect fraud or abuse.

4. How We Share Information

We share the minimum necessary to run the marketplace. Buyers and professionals see the profile details, project content, and contact information needed to complete a job. We share payment and payout data with our payment processors, and limited data with verification, hosting, and analytics providers acting on our behalf.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Payments, Escrow & Payouts

When a buyer funds a milestone, the amount is held by our payment partner until the buyer approves the completed work. Professionals receive payouts to the mobile-money account they set up in Settings.

Kweele stores limited transaction records but does not store full card numbers. Payment card and mobile-money processing is handled by PCI-compliant providers.

6. Verification & ID Data

Documents submitted for professional verification (ID and references) are used only to confirm identity and eligibility. Access is restricted to our Trust & Safety team, and sensitive documents are retained only as long as needed to maintain verification status and meet legal obligations.

7. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

8. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it.

9. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.
• Object to or restrict certain processing, and request a copy of your data.
• Opt out of marketing messages at any time using the unsubscribe link or your notification settings.

10. International Data Transfers

Kweele serves users in the United States and Liberia, so your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards to protect your information during these transfers.

11. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work continuously to safeguard your data.

12. Children

Kweele is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the platform. Your continued use of Kweele after an update means you accept the revised policy.
