Terms of Service
The terms and conditions for using Kweele to hire professionals, buy materials, and manage your building projects.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of Kweele, a marketplace that connects the Liberian diaspora with verified builders, carpenters, electricians, and material suppliers in Liberia. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms.
If you are using Kweele on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Kweele. Professionals must be legally permitted to offer their services in Liberia and provide accurate verification information when requested.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password confidential and notify us of any unauthorized use.
- Accept responsibility for activity that happens under your account.
4. Buyers & Professionals
Kweele is a venue that connects buyers (often diaspora members funding work from abroad) with professionals and suppliers in Liberia. Buyers are responsible for describing their projects accurately and approving completed work. Professionals are responsible for the quality, safety, and legality of the services they provide.
Kweele is not a party to the contract between a buyer and a professional and does not perform the work itself.
5. Projects, Milestones & Escrow
Work on Kweele is organized into milestones. When a buyer funds a milestone, the amount is held in escrow by our payment partner and released to the professional only after the buyer approves the completed milestone, which typically includes photo or video proof of work.
If a milestone is disputed, funds remain held until the dispute is resolved under Section 11.
6. Payments, Fees & Payouts
Buyers pay through the methods offered at checkout. Professionals receive payouts to the mobile-money account (such as Lonestar MTN MoMo or Orange Money) set up in Settings. Kweele may charge service fees, which are disclosed before you confirm a transaction.
You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your transactions.
7. Marketplace Purchases
Materials and tools listed in the marketplace are sold by suppliers. Availability, pricing, and delivery terms are set by the supplier. Kweele is not responsible for products it does not sell, but we help mediate issues through our support and dispute process.
8. Verification
Professionals may apply for verification by submitting ID and references. A Site-Verified badge indicates that we completed our verification steps at a point in time. It is not a guarantee of quality or outcome, and buyers should still exercise their own judgment.
9. Prohibited Conduct
To keep Kweele safe and trustworthy, you agree not to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information, or impersonate others.
- Circumvent Kweele to avoid fees, or take payments outside the platform for work arranged on it.
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users.
- Upload unlawful content or infringe others’ intellectual property.
- Interfere with, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the platform.
10. Reviews & Content
Only buyers with a completed job may leave a review, and reviews must be honest and based on real experiences. You keep ownership of content you post but grant Kweele a license to display and use it to operate and promote the platform.
11. Disputes & Resolution
If a buyer and professional disagree about a milestone, either party may open a dispute. Kweele’s support team may review project details, messages, and proof of work to help reach a fair resolution, including releasing or refunding escrowed funds. Our decision on the release of held funds is final for platform purposes.
12. Intellectual Property
Kweele, including its name, logo, and software, is owned by Kweele and protected by law. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from the platform except as expressly permitted.
13. Disclaimers
Kweele is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that professionals will meet your expectations, that listings are error-free, or that the service will be uninterrupted. Your use of the platform is at your own risk.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kweele is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts of buyers, professionals, or suppliers. Our total liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the fees you paid to Kweele in the three months before the claim.
15. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or create risk for other users. Certain provisions, including payment obligations and dispute terms, survive termination.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Kweele’s operations, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes that cannot be resolved through our process will be handled in the courts or forums specified for your region.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the platform. Continuing to use Kweele after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
